Stress management tips for teachers

Teaching profession requires a great deal of emotional impact. To motivate students, inspire them with his subject, to explain the material easy to understand, the teacher often has to be also an artist. Emotional teachers have a great advantage compared to the unemotional because it is subject only to light the children’s hearts and lead students or kindergarten with him. The ability to control his emotions – an important professional quality, which should make any teacher.

Why is it so important for teachers the ability to manage emotions? Psychologists Peter Sal and Jack Meyer singled out four main aspects of this concept, each of which, in turn, includes a certain ability to:
1. Perception of emotion:
• the ability to recognize their emotions;
• the ability to recognize emotions of other people (in the process of direct communication, in literature and films);
• The ability to accurately express emotion and emotional needs;
• The ability to find differences between sincere and insincere display of emotion.

2. The use of emotions to enhance thinking:
• The ability to include emotions in the performance of mental operations;
• The ability to use emotions to better memory and decision making;
• The ability to use changes in mood, to evaluate different points of view;
• The ability to use emotions in the process of creating something new.

3. Understanding of emotions:
• ability to understand how one emotion can be linked to another;
• The ability to understand what caused these emotions and that is likely to follow;
• ability to understand the simultaneous display of different emotions;
• ability to understand how one emotion can affect another.

4. Office emotions:
• The ability to be open and emotional manifestations of both positive and negative;
• The ability to investigate the causes of certain emotions;
• ability to induce certain emotional states, and extend their leave of them;
• The ability to manage their emotions;
• ability to help others cope with their emotions.
